We suggest electrical tape or cloth rim strip to protect the frame or fork legs. Rubber inner tube will lead to clamp breakage. Tighten clamp after use.
Doesn't work with the Salsa EXP Cage - The plastic on that cage it too think.
Just placed two universal support bolts on my cruiser and now have a water bottle cage for the essential bottle. It was super easy to put on, is very strong, and well built. I put electrical tape on my bike per their recommendations and no problems have occurred. Would buy again.
First bought these bolts for my bike, but have found other great uses for them since. Endless possibilities... Right now, I am using them to attach grow lights to a curtain rod. This is so useful, one would think you could find them in every hardware store.
What a simple but so useful piece of hardware! It works perfectly and is very low profile. My bike didn't have all the mounting points I wanted and I was easily able to add them with the USB. First test run on the bike and there was no movement whatsoever.
Did a 200mi bikepack trip and used two USB on either side of my suspension fork a rock kicked up on a climb and completely snapped both straps simultaneously on the clamp portion on one side. Luckily i had extra space elsewhere on the bike to pack the stove and fuel i stored on the cage on the fork. These would be decent if they were upgraded to slightly beefier material.
