Love the simplicity and durability of these mounts. Have them on all my bikes fat to road. Mounting at the top cap keeps the bottle above muck and spray from the wheels on a muddy ride. Even on a dry ride, there's a coating of dry dusty dirt all over the water bottles that needs to be cleaned off before a drink. I always rotate the bottle I am drinking from to the top to keep it clean and for easy access. Glad these exist.
Well made, seems sturdy. I do a lot of touring and so my "regular" water bottle mounts are used for oversized 1L and 2L bottles. I added a washer between my cage and the King Cage Top Cap Cage Mount mount to increase the angle to clear a stem mounted dynamo light. It is possible to rotate the whole assembly and therefore change the torque of the stem bolt so I will keep an eye on that. Also, my existing stem bolt was incompatible and so I am using a temporary solution. Stem bolts, King Cage? But it is exactly the solution that I was seeking. Wish I had bought it years ago.
Very useful if you have little space!
I asked my son what kind of bike he wanted, and he said one with a water bottle holder. I laughed and told him we can put a water bottle holder on ANY bike, and not to worry. He picked out a small mountain bike, test rode it, it fits and with room to grow. Son happy, Dad happy.
I ordered a water bottle holder( not from you, unfortunately, I would have but didn't know you existed at this point in the story), and when it arrived a week later we mounted it on the bike in the small area left by the geometry on this tiny frame. The bottle cage fit, but he went to snap is bottle in, and it doesn't fit! The area is too small, the bottle is too big. He doesn't want a smaller bottle, he like his new birthday one that I assured him would fit. He looks at me like "you said it would work!"
I have been proved wrong (temporarily) this cannot be!
Quick Google search and a little reading got me to your Top Cap Cage mount.
It arrived in no BS packaging with a paper tag, which gave it a personal old school feel, hand drawn image on the tag reminded me of what I'd imagine a catalogue in 1948 looked like.
Super easy install, no frills no gimmicks. Works like a charm, as low profile as mounting a bottle there could be. As he finished mounting the bottle cage in the new mount, snapped his bottle in, he looked up at me with a confident nod, and I could tell that the trust and faith in me was restored. Thanks to King Cage!
So for the product, if you need one cuz your bike is too small, doesn't have mounts, or you need a place for an extra bottle, buy this product. I would have paid more for this if I had to, I appreciate your fair prices as well.
